Hi everybody
When I started with the AoW-system I had really big problems to find any opponents in my local area.
For many people this fact is a big handicap if they are thinking about starting a new system.
The problem with this forum is, that there is no member-list of all registed users. Normally i would check that list and write to everybody of my town, if he is interested in a game.
That leads me to the other problem:
There are a lot of users, who don´t show where they are from. I am also very carful with any informations about myseIf I give to other people. But an info, where the users of the forum are from would be totally helpful to help the system get going.

So with the 2nd edition coming soon I thought about making it easier for beginners to check, if there are any players in his area.
My idea of a solution of the problerm would be, that everybody, who is interested in finding gamers give some basic infos about themselves. I would keep the first post up to date, so a beginner sees on the first page, where all the guys are coming from. If somebody finds a person in his area, he can write a PM to him, so they can check on a personel level, if they share more informations and make a meeting for a match.
My idea of the base data would be:
Nickname, Country, Town, maybe the age, level of experience with AoW

The definition of the experience would roughly be:
Rookie: Never played AoW
Sporadic Gamer: played the game about 5 times about a longer period of time
Experienced Gamer: Played the game so often, that any games are running with rare usage of the rulebook
Pro: Knows any aspect of the rules even waked up middle in the night

These are just some input from me, if anybody has some more ideas, just write it down
With the next post of that thread I would start the gamerlist, I would be very happy, if a lot of people would make use of that general opponent-finder. I am confident, that AoW wolud profit from it

I know Arena Deathmatch is not the most popular mainstream-tabletop and
I didn´t expect hundreds of posts, but just four players
Come on guys,this is to anybody who is frustrated,
that in their town only GW is the ruling system and nearly no other systems can excist paralel to it.
You have it in your hand to make it a little bit easier for somebody with some basic interest to find another gamer in their town.
No one expects that you are the absolutly pro who knows every rule.
Even if you are a beginner (like me) it is much more easy to learn with someone who is on the same experience-level like yourself. New rules are less complex if more persons try to get the game started.

This is of course just my idea, fell free to write me a pm, if anybody has a better idea to build up an easier access for beginners to that system.
