i must admit i a fan of flowing hair, but i do like the idea of a long braid, maybe straight down the back, with some sort of scythed barb at the end

Oooh - I like! Do that definitely.

... going into production end of this week?
Damn, geuss I've arrived a little late at the party eh? :?

Anyway, for what it's worth, here's my 2 cents of thoughts and comments.

-Overall concept: Simply awesome. Pose looks both powerful and sensual.
This is just the type of miniature I was looking for to lead my future Vampire Counts army.

-The horned helmet does look a bit chaos-y,
but since there's an alternate head allready confirmed,
I'll get right to my next point ...

-The hair: Long braid, pretty please. :D

-Sword: Loving the design, great work.
Perhaps the split tip design can be used for the sword in the sword+shield combo as well?
Though I admit I'm allready sold on the two-handed sword as it is.

-Left hand: Personally I wouldn't mind this hand being empty,
after all, she'll need it to wield her two-handed sword.
If not, I'd prefer the bat-familiar hanging upside-down.

-Speaking of bats, I think the bat-for-bra design adds a nice humorous touch
to an otherwise serious and sinister figure.

-There's only one thing I don't like: the winged-skull (belt buckle?),
and this for the following two reasons:

1: It breaks up her otherwise very fine feminine curves.
2:The skull itself draws attention to itself right at the lady's sweet spot.

I'd really like to see a more subtle alternate to this,
something that emphases her feminine form more,
without drawing attention right to her sweet spot.

Overall tho, this is looking very promising indeed. :thumleft:
Looking forward to seeing the final sculpt.

So, any news?
Felix, please check figure height. The previous Edgar's work (DE Queen) was beat out from scale of 28 mm.
Certainly, it has been conceived... but...

Last I heard (a few days ago) Felix was finishing all the extra parts for her.
However, the two handed sword had been dropped (don't really know why).

While I am still looking forward to the mini, this news saddens me. :(

Will the split tip design still be used for her one-handed sword?

Almost done, I need to go over all joints to make sure they fit together well and Monday will go to moulding.

Will finally come with:
3 optional heads (concept art one plus two non-helmeted heads with different hairstyles)
3 optional right arms (sword, open hand like casting a spell, "cleaning dropping blood from her chin" pose  )
2 vampire bats
1 optional left shoulder pad (the one with the skull on the concept art)

The two handed sword was already sculpted and will be used for a future "celebrity Avatar" miniature. We thought it was too "special" for a generic vampire. The helmeted head might be kept as well for that one (havestill to decide on that).

Sounds good so far. Bit disappointed about losing the two handed sword but depending on the pose a conversion could solve that problem.
looking forward to the finished product. :D

I want to see it now, even though it's still WIP. Come on, Felix. Just a smal out of focus picture... ;)

Hmm, the sword was one of the reasons this concept peaked my interest,
so I'm sad to see it go (as I've allready mentioned in my previous post).

Atleast it's good to hear the sword-design won't go to waste.

But the statement of it being too "special" for her strikes me as odd.
It is exactly designs like this that elevate the vampire queen above "generic" vampire ladies.

Why would you not want your vampire lady to be something special?

Exactly, this Vampire release is meant to be a generic Avatar of War, and we later realized (also after reading the users comments) Des's awesome concept would work better for a celebrity Avatar of War. So this release will probably be named "vampire countess", then keep the Vampire Queen bits for the future vampire queen celebrity Avatar (we may even keep the helmeted head for the Queen and release the miniature with the two other heads, but it's something we have to decide yet).

So if I understand correctly, there will be the current "generic" vampire lady/Countess,
as well as a Vampire Queen wielding the "special" two-handed sword to look forward to?

If so, I can certainly make peace with that. :D

Yep. It might take some time and a new sculpted body to go with the queen bits though.

That is excellent news!

You speak of Queen bits, so more than one.
Mind if I ask which bits are saved for the Queen,
besides the sword and possibly the helmet/crown?

Sadly I have to say, that it is the first time, that I'm not impressed.
The Vampire Queen is looking to much like the Dark Elf Queen and I really hoped that your Vampire would be some kind of Blood Dragon or Strigoi.
Now I'm looking forward to the WIPs of this mini. I hope that I can change my opinion about it.
