The Giant Wolf is one the beasts that can be thrown into the arena for enjoyment (or under petition!) of the crowd.

This miniature is being sculpted by Raul Valiente, an extermely skilled sculptor IMHO, which whom I have been working since the times of DragonRune!

Here is the first WIP pic. It is in very early stage, but the sooner we can have your ideas and suggestions in, the better to get a figure that will be of the liking of as many of us as possible! :)

You can already get a glimspe of the pose and the first impressions on its head.

Well judging from the amazingness of the head it's going to be an awesome model! Is his right front leg going to be slashing forward or something? That would be cool. I really like the stance he is in with his front half of the body in the air etc. Looking like a very promising sculpt at the moment. I geuss this is one of the two beasts (Wolf & Smylodon) that will be in the rulebook? Great work so far, keep it up!

This guy is very talented indeed, the green-stuff looks great!!
but, by the look of the pose would a open mouth be more appropriate?
looks very promising, can't wait to see more from this guy, is he doing the other beast aswell?

This looks very interesting - if only because it's the first thing from AoW that probably won't have such a distinct personality to the model. The pose looks magnificent; it's as though the wolf has snapped at somebody's throat but missed (doubtless some nimble elf dodged). Looks promising!

Its fangs really scream for blood!
This guy can call himself Wolf! Far better than the GW "pets"^^

And its very interesting to see how a professional sculp comes to life!

Looks good thus far.
How giant is this wolf going to be? Horse sized like the GW ones or even bigger?

Awesome head thus far!

I wonder how the sculptor is attempting to do the ears?

I feel that having them stuck up on top of the head is the wrong approach, but possibly having them pulled back, like when a dog is angry or aggressive would look excellent.

Plus that would suit the motion of the dog apparently lunging. I'll see if I can find a suitable reference pic...

If that's not suitable, hows about.......

Looks pretty good thus far but I am not sure I would say that was a wolf's head. Don't get me wrong it looks really powerful and fierce, wolves heads are just no tthat heavy. Their snouts are actually very slim and long compared to the fighting breeds of dogs. I would say that looks an awful lot like an American Pit bull... Which would probably tear a timber wolf to shreds.

Hell yeah it would! those things are the most vicious little ***** I've ever seen (only if your a bad dog owner btw :D)
I think the face will look alot more streamlined when the surrounding hair is added, but even then this is fantasy and we want big scary wolves!!!
The ears pinned seems a good idea, would make it look alot more angry!

 Brilliant!

@drow21 - I wouldn't worry, they look like their both pets of the same person, it would look alot more aggressive if it wanted to do any damage, thats more of a mother on puppy grasp  (sorry for all the cat-haters I just ruined the pic for :D )
