G'day,

I was wondering how important are the base sizes given in the book?

I ask because I would like to be able to use my models for both this and other games. All of my existing fantasy 28mm models are based on 25mm circle washers. I would like to be able to use some of these for your game, but as some of these are goblins (which should be mounted on 20mm in the book) is this going to be a problem?

Is it going to be a problem that they are based on circular bases?

Cheers,
Ben.

Well, the base sizes take importance in some situations. For example, when moving across a space (the miniature box has to fit or it can not move across), when fighting in close combat (the bigger the base the more enemies can engage you and you can engage). You'll be easier target if base is bigger, as the miniature box will be bigger as well.

I see though no problem at all in using round bases as long as all players agree. Sometimes it will benefit you, sometimes not. Just state what will be the miniature box: with a round 25mm base the miniature box would be a "miniature cilinder".

Thanks Gaelion,

I will be providing all the miniatures for my group (as always  ) so I don't think it will be a problem.

Basing on a 20mm washer looks quite odd though, so I might stick with 25mm and hope that the 5mm doesn't make much of a difference.

I've placed an order for the book yesterday, but not the minis yet. When the Aussie dollar strengthens a bit, I'll grab some of the minis (love the goblin king especially!)

Unless you guys are intending to do a Frog Avatar or a Lizardman (Saurus and skink) some time in the future, I think I might have a go at putting some together (stat wise) when I get more time and see how they go. :D

Cheers,
Ben.
