Had a look at the card maker tonight, I think it is a very good idea although I have some suggestions

I found it tricky to simply create a new Avatar, can such a fundamental action be given a button rather the current system of "shift click then right click"?

I assume the magic actions are what haven't been translated?

Are you going to produce a master list of all actions?

It would be good if the description of an action appeared on the record card rather than just it's name, this would reduce the ammount of flicking through rule books/lists to find out what an action does?

Sorry if I sound critical as that is not my intent, I am very happy Arena Deathmatch is back and can't wait to get playing, I'm already trying to arrange a game for Friday

Action descriptions appear on the record cards. So you do not have to look at the rulebook at all. This is one of the coolest features of the Cardmaker.
Actually action descriptions do not appear in the rulebook, appear only on the record cards.
Do your record cards show no action descritpions?

You only have to right-click on the background to show the contextual menu, then click "New Avatar of War".

Exactly, and a few other. As they are translated the cardmaker will autoupdate.

There are so many that the list is very long, but if there is interest I can definitely add it.

Thanks so much for the suggestions! :thumright:

Had another look this morning and action descriptions are appearing, the descriptions for magic actions aren't, this makes perfect sense when I think about it as these actions haven't yet been translated and added to the software. I presume they will appear once there is something in the database to show

Good news is update to v1.2.7 worked perfectly

Time to get some of my Avatars painted and order some of the others I've been holding back on :)

Great news! I was really worried about the descriptions issue. Thanks for the prompt feedback on this and on the update to v1.2.7.

Indeed, those features not yet translated are the ones that do not show the description.

So glad you are back at playing ADM! :bounce:

I also played a bit with the cardmaker. First of all its really awesome. The incredible amount of different actions, feats and traits was a bit overwhelming but its great :thumleft: . Also the design is very cool and the auto update function is brilliant.

And now to my suggestions and questions  :

- it took me some time to understand what and where to click to create my profil, band and avatars. Some greyed boxes as place holders (is this the right word?) would probably help. Something like "right click here to create a new avatar".
- the train, equip and print buttons could be a bit greater
- where can i find the option to give the orc warboss his warboar or will it be implemented?

Thanks for the comments and suggestions! :thumright: :thumright:

I definitely agree about what you say, finding out how to create profile and avatars for the first time might be a little tricky. The placeholders is a very good idea, I will look into it.

Mounts are not yet available, as we still havn't found a nice and simple way to include them easily. But we are working on it, so they will be there at some point.

Hy!

I like the idea of the Cardmaker, it´s great. I played also a little bit with it, and found the following. When you add the dark elve sorceress to your band some of the magic trains are still in spain.
The second thing is, that i can´t find the Ork Warboss on the boar.

What kind of avatar is the Ogre Harbinger of Chaos?
Is it a variation of the normal oger or is it a miniature which isn´t available right now?
Ciao

The miniature hasn't been sculpted. It might be in the future, but no plans for now.

It is a fully armoured ogre, check out this halefree miniatures one, looks great for an Ogre Harbinger of Chaos: http://www.hasslefreeminiatures.co.uk/p ... ?pack=2200

Translating is on the way, soon all features will betranslated.

Thanks for the feedback! :thumright:

Thank you for putting out the card maker. I just have one teeny, tiny request.

In the Traits section most of the avatars have access to aberrant mutations. Could you include Mutation: Giant in the Necromancer entry?

I ask for purely selfish reasons. I have Bruma, Bones Whisper from the Enigma miniatures Massive Darkness range.

http://enigmaminiatures.com/shop/bruma-bones-whisper.html

I love the baron samedi style of this miniature. But there is a problem. She's 34mm scale. With the best will in the world she's too tall for Arena Deathmatch. To use her in this game (and I would like to) I would want to make her a Giant.

Also something I noticed with the Giant and Tiny mutations. They mention modifying the models size but I cannot find any reference to size in the rules or rules update pdf.

Glad to hear. A proposal from my side. I think what could be a good option is just to adjust the movement slightly (and may be the agility) and to make the rest over actions. For example a mounted avatar can´t perform actions any more like the lift and crush action or throw sand action but can perform may be a stampede action, a much more powerful slam action. What could be also possible is that a mounted avatar cannot face an enemy if he is attacked from the side or rear.

greets

Indeed, totally agree with you. That will be the way mounts are implmented. No rule appendix, ... a mount will provide new actions, ... for the Avatar. You'll be able to select the mount in the Cardmaker under objects/mounts, and all new features will be added to the Avatar's record card.
