Well, I am planning on making 2-4 Arenas in total, so that we can do demos and mini tourneys, maybe start a league day at the LGS.

2 'standard' rectangle ones, a round, and... An Octagonal Arena.

I'm a huge UFC fan, and I was watching the other night, and decided that I needed to do one as an Octagon.

I remember somewhere that someone mentioned 28" diameter for a round, any quick conversion from the rectangle to Octagon?
I suppose I can dust off an old math book, or find an online calculator, but I thought Company men might chime in on a suggestion...?

An octogonal arena sounds cool!

I would go for the octagon inscribed in the circular arena.

Supposing the diameter of the circular one is 28", then the radius would be 14".
Knowing that, each side of the octagon inscribed would be : 14*sin(45/2)= 5,35". I would go then for an octagon of around 5,5" per side.

So, if you want to make an octagonal arena inscribed in a cicular arena of diameter d, each side of the octagon should be (d/2)*sin(45/2)

To draw the octagon, rotate 135º from one side to the next one.
