"Bats normaly hang upside-down so probably the bat on her arm could also point downwards. I think this could be something special and not seen before."

I missed that one myself, and very true indeed. That small change would make it a lot more realistic. Good suggestion! :thumright:

I'm also feeling the Maleficent vibe, and its certainly a good thing! Not that I'm a Kingdom Hearts nerd or anything...

That said, an unhelmeted alternate head is a good idea. Heres my ten-pence worth;
1.) The sword blade is a little short for the grip. But if multiple weapon options are on the way, that shouldn't be much of a problem, its still a nice sword as it is!
2.) An upside down bat would be awesome beyond words.
3.) Maybe make that shoulder pad optional. I like all the bat armour, its just that shoulder that makes it seem a little over the top to me.
4.) Victorian clothing would change the whole feel of the model, and thats not cool. But combining the armour with skirts might be interesting. Just a thought, though.

And if you go the way of the Dark Elves with multiple Vampires to come... is it just me, or does anyone else think she'd look awesome with a fully plated/helmeted vampire bodyguard? All evil undead queens should have a scary looking minion to stamp on people's heads...

And there was me hoping for an unarmored male vamp!

With how wide the sword is it's big enough to need two hands to use. I think the handle's a good length as is. I'd like to see the two weapon option as well. Maybe sword and dagger?

The artwork is brilliant. The only little thing I dont like 100% is the helmet/the horns on her head.

I'm looking forward to see some wip pics :bounce:

best regards,

This is fantastic, VC are my "other" army, which I really only have for show as I can never bring myself to abandon my Dwarfs. I'm using the lord of chaos as a vampire (which fits the current GW range perfectly IMO), as this wonderful model will hopefully be an excellent partner for him.

Looks really nice, and I'm sure the final product will be just as good if not better. It actually tempts me to want to start a Vampire Counts Warhammer army... and I hate Vampire Counts. So I guess that means I like it, really nice work guys once again. You're all working really hard at it now.

Couldn't agree more, may have to buy her just to paint even if I don't end up fielding in deathmatch.

The concept is looking really great, but I think the pet/dragon on the arm was used too often now.

I don't agree that is used to often. It is a way of telling a story, portrating a race by using just one image. If the Dark Elves can have their little dragons then she can have her little bat!
But hanging it upside down is a VERY good idea!

What I think is used to often is the severed head. I would much more prefer her having an open hand with stretching fingers with very, very long fingernails (like a claw) The hand and the arm posed as in the artwork. Seeming at rest but ready to strike with it and slice your throat... She also needs a free hand to use the two-handed sword...

I would say sculpt a dripping severed heart in her spare hand, but that might be hard to sculpt well (she could be feeding her bat). Love the artwork. I've had the 'pleasure' of holding a dead bat. :vampire2:

A little dagger sculpted onto her leg would be good. A lady vampire never goes to war without a fancy dagger!

I have to agree with Philuz XIII, almost every avatar has a severed head.I do think its over done a little to much.

I really like the concept art. Especially the bat-familiar is a cool idea and the heavy armor too. Reminds me a little bit of the Sacred Vampire. (The one that got her soul restored and was playable) Really nice, since most vampires tend to simply use their supernatural abilities to explain their toughness in most systems. So this one could be really tough.

Especially the second picture is intriguing.

I had mistaken the head she carries for an old fashioned oil lamp. How great would that be to have a bad cling around an oil lantern she's holding? It would offer allot of direct light painting opportunities.
