This concept art is really cool! :thumleft:

but i have a idea. Give her a cutted head from a opponent in her left hand. The sword in her right hand (like in the concept art) but above her own head and she drinks the opponents blood from her blade. I don´t know how diffycultly it is to sculpt but i think it would looking great! :)

I am really glad to see you are liking so much the concept art. Des Hanley goodness! Expect to see many more designs from him for AoW! :thumright:

The sword shown in the artwork is a 2-handed sword (thus the long grip). There will also be the optional 1handed sword/shield combo.
Seeing the feedback, as the final miniature will also have a non-helmeted head, and an optional left hand with a severed head as well, I think it will please many of you in one or more of the different available combos and will have some tasty rules (Tiger? ;) ) for Arena Deathmatch! :welc:

I like the overall concept. I hope you keep the horns, reminds me a the witch from a very old Disney cartoon. My only complaints are that the bat winged cod piece seems a bit to big and I don't like the double pronged sword at all. I think it would look much better and less top heavy if the end of the sword wasn't split. Other than those two things I've mentioned I really like the concept. She has a very cruel look to her which is very fitting for a vampire queen!

I love the sword, though I hoped you could make an option for two one-handed weapons :) (preferably such a sword but smaller and some nasty exotic vampire weapon?

Mmmmh,.. something to think about indeed. Some rules for two weapon fighting for her would definitely be cool!

Just wondering if the more obvious bat imagery on the armour will be fixed or an optional extra?
just wondering as i'm hoping to use this as the general for my lahmian army, my girls don't do bats much, do like snakes though ;)
Could you make the blade on the sword a bit longer?
If your going to do a second weapon then i think either a whip or dagger would be the best options.

Uhm.... i'm re-looking the picture and i realized that she is more a "wicked woman" than a vamp. This miniature could be perfectly a dark elve or a witch...

Perhaps a victorian clothing will give more personality to the picture and not make she so ... generic?

Not entirely sure how Victorian clothing in a middle ages type setting will help the model - apart from clashing horribly with the rest of the range and possibly turning it into a cheesy hammer horror fest :vampire2:. Besides, who goes into an arena to fight in a long skirts and petticoats? maybe tweak the armour a bit to make it less generic evil but otherwise its fine.

Anyway there's nothing wrong with a model that can easily fill multiple roles - just means more people will buy one so the company will do better and will have even more cash to invest in making even better models - a win all round i think :D

Initial thoughts were making me think she looked a little too much like one of the Dark elves, but that was just a cursory glance; it's definitely much different from those.

Good points:
1: the sword in the drawing looks amazing. Please keep that.
2: option for no helmet, also good! I do have to say I like the helmet and the pose. I get what you say about a confident stride forward.

Not so great points:
1: whoever mentioned the extreme amount of bat imagery has a bit of a point, right now it's a little overdone. If some pieces are optional then it's fine. I believe they were looking for someone to lead their lahmian army so this would help them out. :)
2: I'm not all that much a fan of the bat-critter. Maybe some kind of chalice filled with blood as an option?

Overall the artwork is very nicely done and I look forward to seeing the greens. :)

Hi,
this is my first post on this forum,

The concept is looking really great, but I think the pet/dragon on the arm was used too often now.
Bats normaly hang upside-down so probably the bat on her arm could also point downwards. I think this could be something special and not seen before.

The sword looks also awesome but could be a little bit longer vor a two-hand weapon.

And I think, that female vampires are deadly killers, trained in the art of war for centuries, so the two swords would be the better choice then the sword/shield combo.
Its mutch more feminine to fight wie a pair of fast knives.

But I think you will do another great work with her. Expecting the final version

Regards

I have to say I really, really like the concept art, if the model comes close, and looking at the rest of the range it should, this one will be a definite purchase for me and at least a dozen guys I know.

Keep up the brilliant work guys, this has to be one of the best model ranges out atm.
